What do you want to achieve in 2026?
As the year comes to a close, I wanted to share the 7 questions I’ve asked myself as I map out my 2026 goals. These questions have helped me gain clarity on my goals, stay focused, outline what’s working (and what’s not), and identify the specific actions I’ll need to take in 2026 to achieve my goals.
Because success doesn’t happen by accident — it happens by design.
1. What is your top business goal in the next 12 months?
I have found it helpful to set one clear, measurable goal. I think setting too many goals can lead to having little to show for it at the end of the year. So, for 2026, I’m focusing on one clear goal for my business.
There’s always a long list, but if everything’s a priority, nothing is. I’m challenging myself to define the one big win I want to make happen in 2026. That gives all my other decisions direction.
When setting your goals, it’s important to be specific and set SMART goals. For example:
- Get 10 new clients or customers per month
- Grow my email list to 10,000 subscribers by 2026
Choosing ONE gives your business direction.
2. What is your biggest challenge that could keep you from reaching that goal?
Is your challenge…
- A poorly converting website
- Not reaching enough people
- You don’t have the right systems in place
- You don’t invest in advertising or marketing
Let’s be honest: there’s always something in the way, whether it’s time, clarity, systems, or support. I’m being honest about what my bottlenecks are so I can plan to overcome them.
3. What steps do you need to take to overcome these challenges?
Once you know the obstacle, the path becomes clear.
Ask yourself:
- What decisions have I been avoiding?
- Who do I need on my team?
What specific steps will remove the roadblocks?
4. Who can help you, and what investments or actions will move you forward?
Do you need expert guidance? Who are the experts who can help you?
Perhaps you can’t afford to hire them, but maybe you can purchase a book or do a training.
What investments do you need to make?
Investments can be in the form of time or money. If you don’t have money to pay others, you can invest the time to learn.
Are you willing to do whatever it takes to grow your business and get to the place you want to be?
Who are the people, mentors, trainings, or tools that can help you shorten your learning curve and speed up your results?
Investments create momentum.
Action creates growth.
5. How much revenue do you want to generate in 2026?
This number isn’t just for ego; it’s a planning tool.
I’m reverse engineering how many clients, how many sales, or how many booked projects I need to hit that number. It becomes more achievable when it’s broken down.
Write the number.
See the number.
Say the number.
Whether it’s your first $100K year or your first $500K year, being specific creates direction. It also helps you reverse-engineer your strategy instead of guessing.
6. What program, product, or service is currently your biggest revenue generator?
What’s already working?
Instead of chasing something new, I’m doubling down on what’s already producing results and asking how I can scale it with better systems, offers, or marketing.
Review all the business you generated in 2025, where did most of your revenue come from?
Maybe it’s a service.
Maybe it’s a coaching program.
Maybe it’s a digital product.
Whatever brings in the most consistent sales — that’s the offer that deserves your attention, optimization, and visibility.
This question alone brings massive clarity. You want to focus on your winners.
7. Which services or offerings will you prioritize, expand, or phase out?
Sometimes, as entrepreneurs, we try to do too much with too many offers.
Focusing on one thing and making it better is often the smarter path.
Not everything you sell deserves to stay.
Not everything you offer deserves equal attention.
Not everything gets to come with me into 2026. Some offers may be retired. Some will be refined. I’m asking what really aligns with my goals, impact, and the kind of business I want to build.
Ask:
- What’s aligned with where I’m going?
- What drains me vs. energizes me?
- What gets results for my clients?
- What do I want to be known for?
Growth comes from pruning just as much as adding.
BONUS QUESTIONS I’M REFLECTING ON:
8. What does success look like beyond revenue?
- What do you want your life to look like?
- How do you want to spend your days?
- What things do you want to do before the year is over?
- What organizations do you want to support?
- How much do you want to give back?
- Where do you want to travel?
Impact. Freedom. Lifestyle.
How do you want your business to feel in 2026?
9. What habits or mindsets might you need to shift?
Your mindset plays a huge role in your business success. I’ve long believed that business success is part strategy, part mindset.
Sometimes a simple shift, like sending more emails, can help you generate more revenue. But often, business owners hesitate because they think it’s “annoying.”
What beliefs or habits are holding you back?
10. If you could only accomplish ONE thing in 2026, what would it be?
This question forces you to prioritize what truly matters.
